On chicken soup

It’s about now that most of us develop a sniffy nose a cough flu or a cold. We always expect it. Some of us say ” oh my flu I always get it this time of year”.

It’s almost comforting to get the vapour and the lozenges and curl up in the corner. We might even get a deserved day off. But what are we missing? Yes you’ve guessed it, chicken soup!

Scientists have discovered that there is something secret in chicken soup that makes you feel better even though the common cold is incurable. There is something about the warm soup in the bowl maybe with little bread and butter that makes us feel better. It’s like when you smell something and it reminds you of a time many years ago. It’s comforting and reassuring. So if today you are feeling a little under the weather then curl up and sip some soup, it’s warm, nourishing and has hidden qualities.
