Out in the elements

The first of the frost has come and the air is very cold. Days like this where the wind can cut you like a knife are very tempting to stay in. However wrapping up well and getting out is so much better for your heart and soul. It is so tempting to hide from the weather, staring out and waiting for it to pass.

There is no better pick me up than donning a warm jacket or coat with the wind in your hair and getting out into the elements. The force of the elements and the energy they provide can give us new life and vigour. If you live near the water there is nothing like seeing the force of the waves and the strength of the sea. Walking in the air helps to clear the cobwebs out of your head and clear your mind.

Mountain climbers who summit the most majestic mountains receive a great deal of satisfaction as they mount the summit. It is (on a much smaller scale) the same for us. When we climb that hill or walk that beach or pier or just wander around the nearest local green area we feel refreshed revitalised and ready to face the world again.

So if the weather is good, get out today, if it is bad wrap up well and get out today. Whatever the weather (within reason) get out there and enjoy all that it has to offer.
